With over 2.1 million annual test-takers, the ACT is now chosen by more high school students than the SAT. All colleges and universities in the United States that require a standardized test for undergraduate admission will accept either the ACT or the SAT. The ACT is offered six times per year in the United States and Canada and up to five times per year in other countries. International test centers are available around the world, and the test can be taken in Zurich (the Zurich International School is an official testing location that offers the ACT in September and April). Meet a Zurich ACT Tutor: Marnie S.

Marnie S., originally from Baltimore, Maryland, is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland-College Park. She has been teaching ACT and SAT prep as a private tutor and classroom instructor since 2009, and has lived in Zurich since 2016. Her test prep clients have been accepted to Yale, Brown, Boston University, the University of Georgia, and many other selective undergraduate programs.

In addition to her teaching, Marnie is also employed as a technical writer, a skill with a high degree of relevance to ACT prep. "My technical writing job helps me more effectively teach both quantitative and verbal ACT skills," she says. "My students ultimately learn how to simplify complicated ideas." In her spare time, Marnie enjoys a variety of artistic pursuits, including painting, playing the trumpet, and writing poetry.
